DIVER MEDIC TECHNICIAN (DMT)

Posses the skills needed to meet an Emergency if and when it arises with confidence.

THE INDUSTRY needs more DMT’S

In the United States, a Diver Medic Technician is recommended for all Commercial Diving jobs and in the International setting, a Diver Medic Technician is required to be on each team and not diving. Closed Bell and Saturation require a Diver Medic Technician on each Bell run and all Saturation Divers to hold the Diver Medic Technician Certification is the normal procedure. Dive contractors definitely favor Divers that possess the Diver Medic Technician certification.

Commercial, professional, and scientific divers often find themselves at work in medical and geographic isolation. Medical evacuation of injured divers can be complicated by long distances and large bodies of water. This process may be further complicated by access difficulties, such as no runway and limited helicopter landing capabilities. Further, decompression accidents require immediate recompression. Delays in definitive treatment can result in fatal outcomes, permanent neurological injuries, or other career-ending complications.
